We plan...

Mission 2013- or that's what I'd like to call it now that it's actually in motion is about finding myself.

At the start it was all kinds of things. A little bit of a messiah complex about 'saving the world', helping the less fortunate, giving back etcetera. By no means are those not reasons for my travel and so-called agenda for the year any more, but I have had the opportunity to reflect on my choices, the timing of these choices and come to understand that more than anything this wonderful adventure- that has taken me to the other side of the world, completely outside my comfort zone, breaking all sorts of boundaries of culture, language, continents, customs is- to find myself.

It is a journey of self discovery.

Through my travel which started in New York, and so far has taken me to La Paz, Cochabamba, Sucre, Lima and now Cusco; I hope to discover my own strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and by the end of it become a rejuvenated, refreshed and re-energised version of myself. I hope to learn from everything and everyone I encounter and to be lucky enough to contribute in whatever way I can to help those around me with my skills, life experiences and knowledge.

The plotted path is Bolivia (Cochabamba), Peru (Lima and Cusco), Guatemala (San Miguel Escobar, Ciudad Vieja), but you never know where life takes you. I look forward to meeting wonderful new people, exploring the beauty of this region and its lands and discovering things about myself I either did not know or had long forgotten.

Here's to the journey...
